Sneak Peak of Hockey Canada’s Team Lounge & Trophy ‘Shrine’

The Hockey Canada player’s lounge and media interview area, affectionately referred to as ‘the Shrine’, was used for the first time during the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship selection camp. Team Canada players enjoyed some R ‘n R in the lounge prior to heading off to Edmonton for their round robin games in Group B. It is rumoured that it only took the players 10 minutes to hook up an X-box and ipod to the multi-media system, taking full advantage of the 150 inch HD projection screen and built in 7.1 surround sound.

Sneak Peak of Hockey Canada’s Team Room

Hockey Canada’s Men’s team room sits empty while Team Canada is in Edmonton for Group B round robin play. It was hard for the players to leave the space after training camp and selection. Hard to imagine why! The room is oval shaped and equipped with an advanced multi-media system to provide an unparalleled coaching environment. Team Russia as the top seeded team is utilizing Hockey Canada’s Women’s team room facilities, an exact duplicate of the Men’s team room, throughout the tournament.
